Iran's foreign ministry said that during talks at the Bürgenstock resort near Lucerne, Switzerland, it reached an agreement with the United States on a mechanism for safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Senior delegations from Iran, the US, Qatar and Pakistan concluded this round of talks, while technical teams will continue to address remaining issues.
The discussions also covered establishing a framework for negotiations toward a final peace agreement. Reports indicated that the Iranian delegation temporarily left the venue after President Donald Trump threatened to resume military actions. Both sides also agreed on a 60‑day roadmap to maintain communication channels and prevent possible clashes in the strait, aiming to manage regional tensions.
