The USS Nimitz, the first of ten ships in its class and slated for retirement soon, is still fully operational. The aircraft carrier is currently deployed in the Caribbean, operating in the vicinity of Cuba, an area that has been frequently threatened by the Trump administration and subjected to a U.S. oil blockade. Commissioned in 1975, the Nimitz is the oldest active aircraft carrier in the U.S. Navy.
