Taiwan said it will markedly expand its military exercises this year. About an hour ago, the island announced a five‑day “Immediate Battle Readiness” drill starting tomorrow. A separate one‑week “Joint Defense” exercise will begin on Monday, July 13. Both drills are scheduled before the ten‑day Han‑Kong exercise planned for August.
