Qatar and Pakistan said the conclusion of the first high‑level talks between the United States and Iran in Switzerland was an "encouraging step" that set a framework for technical negotiations. A senior committee was created to oversee mediation, establish working groups on nuclear issues, sanctions, monitoring and dispute resolution, and to pursue a roadmap toward a final agreement within 60 days. The arrangement also includes a direct communication channel to guarantee shipping security in the Strait of Hormuz and a mechanism to ease tensions in Lebanon.
