Israeli military officials said they have taken control of a subterranean complex built over a decade, with steel blast‑proof doors and extensive tunnels extending several hundred metres into a mountain, some sections up to 29 metres deep and even beneath a mosque. The site, located near Majdal Zoon close to the Lebanon‑Israel border, was used to assemble drones whose components were smuggled from Iran and transferred to Lebanon. Israeli forces found about 50 ready or partially assembled drones equipped with 30‑kilogram explosive warheads, capable of ranges between 200 and 500 km, as well as roughly eight tonnes of explosives stored throughout the tunnel system. The army described the complex as an underground drone production hub that had previously suffered damage from air strikes during the 2024 conflict, but was being rebuilt before Israeli ground troops moved in to secure and plan its complete demolition.
