The Israeli military announced that on Wednesday an airstrike in the southern Gaza Strip killed Hamas financial commanders Hussein Qudra and Muhammad Farra, who were senior members of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades. The army said they oversaw a network that moved more than half a billion shekels through dozens of couriers and exchangers in Turkey and Gaza, financing salaries and military operations, which it described as a breach of the cease‑fire.
The statement also linked the strike to a previous Israeli attack on the Abu Hassna family home in central Gaza that killed Al Jazeera photographer Ahmed Washah, who was responsible for overseeing Israeli hostages, including the high‑profile prisoner Tamir.
Israel says it will continue to target Hamas financial networks and anyone involved in the October 7 attacks.
