Senator John O'Saff said the war with Iran is a catastrophe for U.S. foreign policy, the economy, national security and President Trump’s administration. He reminded the public that Trump initially assured that the conflict was progressing ahead of schedule, but repeatedly lied and proclaimed victories that were either imminent, already achieved, or never materialized. O'Saff argued that the Middle‑East foreign‑policy failure has humiliated Trump, made America less secure, cost tens of billions of dollars, depleted military ammunition and equipment that will take years to replace, and weakened the United States’ global standing, a credibility gap that will take years to repair.
