The Capin tank’s active defense system is based on the French PROMETEUS platform and features two independent counter‑measure modules—one mounted on the turret and another on the hull front. Both modules use four fuzzy‑array radars with electro‑optical sensors positioned at the turret corners to provide full 360‑degree coverage. When an incoming armor‑piercing projectile is detected, the turret‑mounted counter‑measure activates instantly, detonating small directional charges at close range to neutralise the threat while minimizing risk to nearby friendly infantry. The hull‑front module is designed to defeat high‑velocity kinetic energy penetrators such as APFSDS rounds, rapidly fragmenting the penetrator and significantly reducing its penetration capability.
