A radio broadcast from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy warned that, because of Israeli actions in Lebanon and what it described as a breach of commitments by the United States, the Strait of Hormuz has been closed to maritime traffic. All vessels were instructed to stay away from the area for their own safety.
