Iran’s armed forces headquarters, the Central Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya, announced that it has closed the Strait of Hormuz to vessel traffic, citing violations of a memorandum by the United States, ongoing Israeli actions in southern Lebanon and the failure of forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon. Tehran described the move as the “first step” and warned that further violations could lead to additional measures.
