Russia's state defense conglomerate Rostec announced the new version of its Molnia family of loitering munitions, designated Molnia-13. The drone carries a 13‑kilogram warhead, can fly at about 120 km/h and reach targets up to 50 km away. Compared with the earlier Molnia‑2, it features a longer airframe and an upgraded propulsion system that uses four engines instead of two. The low‑cost, attack‑oriented loitering munition is intended for striking positions, fortifications, vehicles and other tactical targets on the front line. Russian sources say the upgraded model was already employed in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine before its official unveiling.
