The Dutch Ministry of Defence said the air‑defence frigate HNLMS De Ruyter has changed course from the Indian‑Pacific region to head for the Strait of Hormuz. The move is intended to allow the ship to take part in a possible EU‑led international coalition that would safeguard commercial shipping through this strategic waterway. However, the ministry added that a final decision on the vessel’s participation in any mission has not yet been made.
