Iran Announces End to War with U.S. and Lifts Blockade

Iran's Supreme National Security Council said the country has finalized a Memorandum of Understanding with the United States concerning the end of hostilities, known as the Islamabad negotiations. The agreement, reached after several months of intensive talks, calls for an immediate and permanent cessation of war and military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, and the complete lifting of the naval blockade against Iran.

The memorandum will be formally signed on Friday, June 19. Final negotiations on a comprehensive agreement will be postponed until the United States fulfills its commitments under the memorandum. Iran expressed gratitude to Pakistan and Qatar for their roles in facilitating the talks.

According to the agreements reached, the war and military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, will end immediately and permanently from tonight, and furthermore, the naval blockade against Iran will be immediately and completely lifted. The signing of this memorandum of understanding will be officially carried out on Friday, June 19. Negotiations for the final agreement will be postponed until after the other party fulfills its commitments according to the Memorandum of Understanding.
