Iran's Gulf Waterway Authority announced that, under a memorandum of understanding with the United States, passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be permitted only for vessels that submit applications through official channels and meet the new requirements. The authority warned that requests sent via informal routes will not be considered. Transit applications must be filed at least 48 hours in advance, the agency said.
