A statement from the Islamic Resistance said its fighters engaged an Israeli force composed of armored and infantry units attempting to infiltrate northward toward the Ali al‑Taher high ground in southern Lebanon. The resistance reportedly lured the troops into an ambush and hit three Merkava tanks with guided missiles, igniting them, and continued to fire intensive rockets and artillery shells. The clashes were said to be ongoing at the time of the statement, which was issued on 19 June 2026.
