German defense firm Rheinmetall and U.S. company General Atomics have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore joint production of the next‑generation 155 mm precision‑guided Vektrex artillery round. The munition is designed for high accuracy, extended range and maneuverability, aiming to boost artillery firepower, support modernization programs, enhance long‑range strike capability and replenish ammunition stocks.
