Elbit Systems introduced FireTrap‑X, an acoustic monitoring system that detects, classifies and pinpoints enemy fire sources in real time. Using a network of distributed audio sensors, the system captures sounds from small arms, mortars, artillery and rockets, calculates time‑difference‑of‑arrival to locate the source within seconds, and transmits data instantly to command centers for rapid alerts and force guidance. FireTrap‑X operates without line‑of‑sight, functioning in urban, mountainous and obstacle‑filled environments, and is part of Elbit’s broader Torch‑X and C4I family of sensor solutions.
