The VC-25A aircraft bearing tail number 92‑9000, which has served as one of the two primary planes of the Air Force One fleet since 1990, has completed its final mission in that role. Built on a Boeing 747‑200B airframe, the plane has transported U.S. presidents on domestic and international trips for over 30 years.

The 92‑9000 was the first VC‑25A delivered to the U.S. Air Force and, together with its sister aircraft (tail 28000‑82), symbolized the American presidency worldwide. With the upcoming introduction of the newer VC‑25B fleet, the legendary bird is now retiring.

Equipped with advanced communications, defensive systems, aerial refueling capability and strategic command facilities, the VC‑25A has been among the safest aircraft in the world.
