France displayed the REFURBOT at the Eurosatory 2026 defence exhibition – an AMX‑30 main battle tank converted into an unmanned combat vehicle. Using the TOXO robotic kit from KNDS, the vehicle’s 105 mm gun turret has been replaced with a remote‑controlled ARX‑25 turret equipped with a 25 mm automatic cannon and 280 rounds. The system can engage light armoured vehicles, drones, helicopters and infantry at ranges beyond 2.5 km. The project aims to repurpose stored legacy tanks into unmanned combat platforms for reconnaissance and fire‑support missions without endangering crew members.
