Activists in the town of Abu Sayba wrote the name of Bahrain's ruler, Hamad Al Khalifa, on the streets as a protest response to the security forces' crackdown on Ashura gatherings. The act was carried out following reports of foreign‑linked Al Khalifa forces attacking Ashura processions.
