The Israeli Ministry of Defense has signed a contract with Smart Shooter to purchase the SMASH Hopper remote‑controlled weapon system, valued at up to $2.5 million and slated for delivery by the end of 2026. The lightweight 15‑kg turret uses image processing and artificial intelligence to detect, track and engage ground and aerial targets, including drones, only firing when a high probability of hit is calculated—a capability the maker describes as “one shot, one hit.” The system is intended to augment Israel’s layered defense against swarms of small drones, integrating detection, electronic warfare and precision munitions.
