According to a diplomat from one of the mediating countries and an informed source, the United States, Iran and the mediators are negotiating to sign the memorandum of understanding remotely on early Wednesday instead of an in‑person ceremony scheduled for Friday. If approved, the agreement will be signed electronically and the provisions concerning the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz will take effect immediately. A remote signing could also pave the way for the public release of the agreement's text, which has not yet been disclosed.
