Lockheed Martin reported the successful test of its new Grizzly anti‑drone system, which shot down a class‑3 suicide drone. The trial took place at the Yuma Test Range in Arizona, where a multi‑purpose JAGM missile was launched from a container‑based Grizzly launcher and destroyed the target. The system used Fortem R‑40 radars and Sanctum command software to detect, track and engage the drone.
The Grizzly launcher fits into a standard 3‑meter container and can carry eight Hellfire or JAGM missiles. It can be deployed on land or aboard vessels with minimal infrastructure. Lockheed Martin said the entire integration and firing test was completed in under 45 days, aiming to provide a fast, affordable, modular solution against the growing drone threat.
